A Fashion Glasses Show

Well, while we pursue the style of fashion glasses, the function shall never be ignored. Two of the most common eyeglasses are bifocal glasses and progressive glasses. With such eyeglasses, people could see clearly both at distance and at near. Here is one kind of newly introduced glasses with the same function of bifocals, called emPower.

Personally, I think emPower is a perfect combination of function and fashion. Not only does the function appeal to me, but the appearance is attracting. emPower will definitely become a popular kind of fashion bifocal glasses in the near future.

Lots of wearers may have been complaining about the ugly appearance of traditional bifocals since they get seams in each lens. Well, emPower helps solve the problem. Unlike the conventional bifocal eyeglasses, emPower stands out as one type of fashion glasses as it has no seam in each lens. The advanced technology makes emPower look nothing different like ordinary glasses.

The most exciting part is that emPower offers a better vision experience and greater convenience.

Here is the main principle. Within the frames, there are a microchip, micro-accelerometer and miniature batteries. Within each lens, there is an LCD-like player that is designed to adjust the focus. According to wearers’ movement, the micro-accelerometer can detect and send the signal to the LCD which alters how light is refractors, thus changing the focus. Thus, wearers can see clearly both at near and at distance.

The charger looks very fashionable, too. It is said that the battery could last a couple of days.

Without obvious seam in lenses and with so powerful function, emPower is good option when it comes to fashion bifocal glasses.

I’ve written a lot of posts about fashion sunglasses or fashion glasses worn by celebrities, but so far have touched upon subjects from few other perspectives. Since I am a cartoon fan, today, I will try to list some famous cartoon characters with glasses, and give a simple analysis of their personality. Most of these cartoon characters glasses are good examples for us to refer to in terms of fashion glasses.

1. Conan Edogawa (Case Closed, known as Meitantei Conan)
Without doubt, the first cartoon character with glasses should be Conan Edogawa. Case Closed, known as Meitantei Conan is definitely one of the most influential cartoons all across the world. The image of the main character Conan Edogawa has been engraved in our mind. His usual outfit mainly consists of a blue suit jacket with a single button and a pair of shorts, paired with a red bowtie and his dad’s old glasses. Conan’s glasses have multiple functions, for example, for disguising his identity as Jimmy Kudo, and for tracking position. For the popularity of the cartoon, lots of fans are eager to get such fashion glasses.

2. Nobita Nobi (Doraemon)
Doraemon is also well liked by kids. The two main characters are the robotic cat Doraemon and Nobita Nobi. Being generous and kind, Doraemon always helps Nobita in difficulty. Thus, lots of interesting stories happen between them, which have brought much fun to us. Nobita, who is lazy and timid and likes to read cartoons and watch TV, wears a pair of large round glasses, which looks so cute.

3. Kiminobu Kogure (Slam Dunk)
The sports-themed manga has appealed to a large group of cartoon fans. It tells a story about a basketball team from Shohoku High School. Kiminobu Kogure, Shohoku’s vice captain, is honest, gentle, and team-oriented. He is almost never seen without a pair of glasses, which makes him look very gentle.

4. Spongebob Squarepants
Hah, Spongebob is a cute cartoon character who is extremely energetic and optimistic, living in a pineapple under the sea. Spongebob is endowed with a really cute appearance, which looks like a kitchen sponge except that he wears a pair of glasses mainly for going jelly fishing. Spongebob thinks that he is cool with his fashion glasses. Perhaps this is the only function because he rarely manages to catch anything with his glasses.

5. Takumi Mayama (Honey and Clover)
This is one of my favorite cartoons, a story between a group of students at an art college in Tokyo. As a fourth-year art student, Mayama wears a pair of black frame eyeglasses, looking rather gentle. As one main type of fashion glasses, such black frame glasses have become the favorite of those who have a complex about glasses.

Avril Lavigne is famous as a Canadian singer-songwriter, having a large fanbase among the young. I like her as she stands for youth and energy. Seen from her fashion sunglasses, we can conclude that Avril is a girl who is into bright colors and distinctive styles. Her sunglasses come in different styles with much disparity either between colors or between shapes.

D&G

It is interesting that Avirl looks like a student with this pair of sophisticated D&G sunglasses. Perhaps it is because she dresses in a rather casual style with cute checkerboard tee.

Heart shaped

Avril Lavigne looks so gorgeous with such fashion sunglasses. This pair of heart shaped sunglasses is rather suited for her face shape. The cute design looks rather exquisite, making Avril look so glamorous. Her choice of the sunglass color is rather sensible as it is perfectly combined with her clothing color.

Ray ban wayfarer 2140

Hah, another funky pair of fashion sunglasses. Avril chooses the classic ray ban wayfarer in red, which looks so stylish. It is a perfect combination of the red wayfarer with her stripe handbag.

Chanel 2011

With Chanel 2011 sunglasses, Avril looks more sophisticated. The aviator style helps add a classic tone to her punk rock look. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel are all into such fashion sunglasses.

Geeky glasses

In her new single “What The Hell”, Avril Lavigne wears a pair of geeky glasses in wayfarer style. Personally, I think such style is rather suited for her. By the way, the video employs a vintage style, which looks very distinctive. In the video, Avril enters a vintage clothing store with this pair of geeky glasses. A very catchy video!

She is born in a showbiz family. Eric Roberts is her dad and Julia Roberts is her aunt. Emma Roberts says she is imperfect with crooked teeth. But for all her fans, this is the trait that makes her the way she is. I think she is gorgeous and cute. Emma Roberts also has her own taste in fashion clothing and other accessories including fashion sunglasses.

Gucci 3108S

Gucci sunglasses always represent glamour and elegance. Gucci style is rather suited for women to give elegance into full play. Emma Roberts look so glamorous with Gucci fashion sunglasses, looking more mature.

Ray Ban 3016 Clubmaster

Ray ban 3016 Clubmaster is one of the classics that represent timeless classics and trendy style. Such style of fashion sunglasses composes of plastic lenses and stainless steel frame mostly in gold color that surrounds the lenses and the bridge. Emma Roberts is so fresh and beautiful with Ray Ban 3016 paired with her white T-shirt, white handbag and black jeans. The whole combination is perfect without any bright color but with light color such as black, white, and gold. I like Emma Roberts in this style.

Tom Ford Bachardy TF 0153

Tom Ford Bachardy TF 0153 is perhaps most suited for the youthful group. Emma Roberts is just cute with such fashion sunglasses.

Chloe 2144

Chloe 2144 is designed in a wayfarer style. Emma Roberts is young and vivacious. With Chloe 2144, she looks so cute and energetic. Perhaps Chloe 2144 is the favorite style among the young in its simple design since there is only a small amount of detail on the temples.

Pop star, fashion icon, and fashion designer. Victoria Beckham has played multiple roles in the fashion field. Famous for her own line of fashion, Victoria Beckham is the example of many fashionasts. As essential fashion accessories, fashion sunglasses are a main part of her style.

DVB #11

Victoria Beckham looks so sexy and charming with DVB 11 sunglasses. I like the frame design so much. Semi-round and square lenses are encased in slightly thick frames. The temple design is also very exquisite in a slender and flat style. All these factors combined, DVB #11 sunglasses stand out compared to other fashion sunglasses of DVB.

RB 3025

Victoria Beckham chooses the classic ray ban 3025 paired with her black suit to give us a succinct style. Nothing more to say but thumbs up. Personally, I like this style most as it is the most simple but still appealing.

DVB TBA

This is another style from DVB sunglasses, which looks also very fashionable. Compared to DVB 11 sunglasses, this style of fashion sunglasses makes her look rather dignified.

DVB Star Aviator

DVB Star Aviator is designed to be rather sumptuous. The unique design makes it look quite special in the style. Victoria is definitely a fashion chameleon, as she dresses in different styles with those fashion sunglasses, which all look fabulous.

Shutter? Cigarette? Mickey Mouse? They are not fresh new styles for fashion sunglasses any more. Jeremy Scott, the king of outrageous design, has brought to us fantastic creative work in cooperation with Linda Farrow. The new line for 2011 Spring Summer sunglasses includes four designs- Hands, Wings, Smiles and Cross. Unlike the Mickey Mouse style that Lady Gaga wore in Paparazzi, these four styles of fashion sunglasses all look like works of art.

It is a feature that Linda Farrow sunglasses like to cooperate with famous designers to design their fashion sunglasses. Alexander Wang, Dries Van Noten, and Rif Simons are all among them.

In conjunction with Jeremy Scott, Linda Farrow Spring Summer 2011 sunglasses are absolutely stunning.

Wings

There are three options for the “wings” series- white, black and clear. I like the white one most. With classic acetate frames and the unique wings design, the wings sunglasses are very fashionable. Such a simple and concise design is one of the most proper fashion sunglasses that are suited for hot summer.

Hands

Such a bold design is rarely seen in the field of fashion sunglasses. The sunglasses are simply shaped like two hands, so perhaps not everybody dares try such a unique style.

Smiles

This style is very cute, and I think it will be liked by a larger group of people. in a flip up style, the smile design looks so funny and interesting. I would be very happy if I could wear such smile sunglasses even in hottest summer.

Cross

The cross style is also very creative and novel. Compared to the other three styles, the cross sunglasses are designed in a more vintage styles. They would be appealing to those who are into geek styles.

Mad about Mad Men? Then you definitely know about January Jones! She is so chic, elegant and sexy! Now Versace has launched a new line of eyewear named after January Jones for spring. Among various fashion sunglasses in this spring, January J will very competitive with its simple but elegant design.

Donatella Versace, as a Mad Men fan, has a great admiration of January Jones’s temperament.

“She is chic and elegant but deeply sensual too—it is a dramatic combination. January has been a good friend to the house of Versace and she looks wonderful in our Spring/Summer accessories campaign, so I thought it would be fun to name my new eyewear collection after her,” Versace said in a press release.

The January J. collection includes three styles- two styles of fashion sunglasses and one optical style, each with medusa head metal detailing on the front of the temple.

The ad has been injected with the 50’s and 60’s star glamour, looking rather appealing.  Unlike others like D&G,  Versace launches the black-and-white campaign, set in London. For the Spring/Summer 2011 campaign, January Jones wears nothing but a pair of sexy high-heeled shoes, oversized fashion sunglasses, and a delicately placed handbag.
