Do You Think Hair Glasses Crazy?
We are all for recycling whenever possible. We recycle items like paper, plastic, metal, and electronic equipment to protect our environment. But have you ever thought of sunglasses made from hair? Well, two graduates, Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves, of the UK’s Royal College of Art, have designed a collection of sustainable fashion sunglasses exploring the potential of human hair.

“The UK beauty industry imports 15 million pounds worth of human hair per year. As the world’s population continues to increase, human hair has been reimagined as a viable—importantly renewable–material. Hair Glasses comprises of human hair with bioresin as a binding agent, the frames are 100% biodegradable and no harmful substances are released during production.”

These sunglasses come in different shapes and with different lens colors, most of which are made for women. You would never know from looking at them that the frames are made from human hair. The resin is 100% biodegradable.
